Construction Worker Killed in Trench Collapse Accident near Sherman Oaks
A construction worker was killed while digging a trench north of Sherman Oaks, according to The Beverly Hills Courier. He was found by a co-worker buried up to his neck after the trench collapsed.
The victim was in a trench that was eight feet deep and two feet wide. At the time of the San Fernando Valley construction accident, he was excavating a trench by himself with hand tools in an attempt to find a sewer line from the street. Unfortunately, no one saw the accident occur, and the worker was not discovered until 2:51 p.m. About 100 firefighters were sent to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m.
