:: Robert J. Mandell, Esq.

Robert J. Mandell is a partner in the The Mandell Law Firm, a tort litigation firm located in Northridge, California. The firm has served Southern California for more than 30 years.

Mr. Mandell graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwestern University School of Law (first in his class in the rigorous SCALE program). He is an experienced trial lawyer, with several million-dollar plus awards to his credit. He has argued and won several cases before the California Court of Appeal, including a recent victory in the toxic tort arena, Environmental World Watch v. Cummins Engine, et al.

In 1999, Mr. Mandell won a formidable malpractice case against a world renowned neurosurgeon whose trial expert literally wrote the book on the procedure at issue in the case (Echecceria v. Regents of University of California - $1.8 million gross award). He is a member of Consumer Attorneys of California, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the L.A. County and San Fernando Valley Bar Associations, as well as a volunteer for Trial Lawyers Care, which provides free assistance to the victims of September 11th.

Recently, Mr. Mandell and his team prevailed in two difficult product liability actions against General Motors, garnering substantial settlements for victims of catastrophic injury. (Woodman v. GM - defective seatbelt in Chevrolet Corvette and Martinez v. GM - defective brake-shift interlock in GMC Suburban.)

Mr. Mandell limits his practice to personal and catastrophic injury cases, including auto and other accidents, defective products, medical malpractice, dog bites, environmental/toxic torts, and some business litigation. :: Laurence H. Mandell

Laurence H. Mandell is the managing partner of The Mandell Law Firm. Since 1978, he has championed the rights of injury victims, consumers and small business owners throughout Southern California. His expertise encompasses all aspects of personal injury matters, including dog bites, motorcycle accidents, car accidents, premises liability and product liability.

Mr. Mandell is a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of Trial Advocacy and a member of consumer advocacy groups such as the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles and Consumer Attorneys of California. His victories include several multi-million dollar-plus awards, including a high profile freeway accident case against the City of Los Angeles which garnered $2.8 million. (Randall v. City of LA).

Mr. Mandell has some 40 trials and more than 250 arbitrations to his credit. He is well respected on both sides of the fence as an aggressive advocate and worthy opponent. :: Mara Burnett

Mara Burnett is the newest partner in The Mandell Law Firm, and is widely considered one of the rising stars among consumer rights attorneys in Southern California. She brings her unique down-to-earth style to sensitive and often complex matters, winning her the respect of injury victims and adversaries alike.

Ms. Burnett began her legal career as a Research Attorney for the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she analyzed thousands of legal issues, and literally wrote the rulings and opinions for several prominent judges. She also conducted settlement conferences for the Court. Over the next decade, she focused her private practice on catastrophic injury cases arising from motor vehicle accidents, defective products, and dangerous conditions on property. She has successfully litigated wrongful death cases on behalf of surviving family members, including a tragic case which later contributed to major changes in automobile safety measures. (Martinez v. GM – brake-shift interlock) She participated in mass tort train accident litigation, as well as several successful actions against negligent physicians.

Ms. Burnett offers free consultations to all clients and gives a special personal touch to each relationship, which brings her clients back when she is needed again.
